A little catchup

It’s taken us all a while to recover from the busy-ness of the spin-in but even so, our members have been creating some lovely things. Here are a few, some from quite a while ago. The photos should all enlarge if clicked on.

Margaret wove a tiny book, which makes a lovely needle-holder.Liz has been weaving on a very different scale, a colourful rug,

and Trish has been busy knitting one, for those cold nights.

Rosemarie’s natural dyeing is always interesting – the purple skein was dyed with logwood, the green with marigold over natural grey wool, and the light one was a bundle dye with coreopsis, black eyed susan and hollyhock flowers. Her sweater was dyed with marigold and shifted to green with iron:

A soon-to-arrive new family member of Marion’s will love these:

and some child will be cosy in this little sweater, spun and knitted by Wendy from Beauley wool.

But why are we showing you quilting by Lynley? It’s not one of our crafts –

but it’s relevant! Here’s a clue:

Recognise it? Something most of us use, often made by ourselves …

but our knitting-needle-holders are rarely as nice looking (or as well-organised) as this one!

Thanks to Terri who took the last four pictures.
